​Terrence Guay is a clinical professor of international business in the Smeal College of Business and associate dean for international programs, which includes oversight of the Strickler Office of International Programs, at Penn State. He also serves as the director of Smeal’s Center for Global Business Studies. Guay’s research focuses on competition among governments, international organizations, NGOs, and other non-state actors to shape business behavior and the international business environment.

He has published or co-authored eight books and numerous journal articles and book chapters on the complexities of the EU–US relationship; the effects of government policies on the global defense industry; cooperation and competition in transatlantic economic relations; the impact of economic sanctions on international business; NGO and corporate codes of conduct; corporate social responsibility; and corporate political strategy.
